Whatnissan Posted February 12, 2009 Share Posted February 12, 2009 My system specs are as followed. os x 10.5.6 abit fatal1ty fp-in9 sli E6750 core 2 duo 4gigs of ram nvidia Gforce 7600gs 512 qe working with nvdarwin onlite dvd burner ide every time i try to burn a dvd with toast 10 i get a kernal panic i have tried different things to get it working switching out applenforceata.kexts and no luck. I would really like some help with this I have spent alot of time getting everything working perfect and this is baisicly the last thing any ideas? Whatnissan Posted February 12, 2009 Author Share Posted February 12, 2009 I have slashdaks applenforceata kext installed. any other ideas possably? well You were right I took out a stick of ram 2gb tried to burn a disk and sucess no kernal panic. Now im about to try bittorrent. Hopefully that works too then well i dont know cause i was using slashhacks nforceata fix but it says compiled for 10.4.8 i have 10.5.6 so I dont know the difference but im shure its a bit. Whatnissan Posted February 12, 2009 Author Share Posted February 12, 2009 Ok well I took out a 2gig stick of ram and now everything works paralls desktop bittorrent and toast. everything so far and its stable as hell Im using it now and have 6 things going at once and its chugging along fine. Hopefully somone will figure this out. thorazine74 Posted February 13, 2009 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Check the list of loaded extensions in system profiler maybe you have some other buggy kext loaded. You can limit available memory with a kernel boot argument, no need to remove the memory sticks, maxmem=2048 I think, search the forum for exact details.
