OK I have a Toshiba satellite m100

here are the specs http://www.toshiba.ca/web/product.grp?lg=e...=5591&category=

everything works except for the sound. I've edited the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/ with this procedure

http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=1474&st=40

I've put the correct deviceID (checked with windows) and removed the AppleHDA.kext (tired with AppleHDA.kext edited as well, it breaks windows sound along with no OSX sound)

It boots with the sound icon but i cant adjust volume and i still don't get any sound

The device is present when i go to the audio and midi setting in Application/utilities.

any help would be appreciated.

You will not be able to adjust the sound within OSX. You must use the external sound adjustment....there should be a horizontal scroll wheel in the front of the unit right under where the lid locks with the base, right below the mouse pad. Its hidden away a bit...it took me a bit of inspecting to find it myself. Usually, sound is adjusted by FN keys or preset buttons on the laptop. This is not the case with Toshiba.

If this does not solve it, please describe for me the exact procedure you used, though the fact that you see the sound icon leads me to believe that you've done it correctly.

Also, how could an Apple kext break a windows driver?

I really think your external volume is set all the way down.

I've tried adjusting the slider/adjuster on the front and it does nothing, and I am not sure about the windows thing but i swear it kill it sometimes.

Here is what I did

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/Info.plist

key>IOHDAudioCodecVendorID</key>

<string>0x10ec0861</string>

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAzaliaController.kext/Contents/Info.plist

<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>

<string>0x27d88086</string>

and delete the AppleHDA.kext

all ID were retried from windows so i know they are correct
