Hi!

1.5 years ago I tested osx on my pc and I loved it. So I actually decided to buy a Macbook Pro. Now I want to build a new hackintosh, and I'm not sure about the hardware. I've spend the last days looking at this forum, wiki.osx86project and available hardware near me.

Hardware:

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3

Intel Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz? maybe dual core?

Xpert Vision nVidia 8800GT 512MB? maybe Ati HD 3650?

And 1TB HDD, 4GB memory, 24'' lcd..

Mostly I'm going to use this hackintosh to music, watch 1080p movies, photoshop and maybe final cut later. I use to have many programs running at the same time, but I'm not sure about dual/quad core, and do you think I should choose 8800GT or HD 3650 or maybe another card?

I hope it is easy to install OSX on the mobo, it was the best I could find from HCL on wiki.osx86project to a good price.

I appreciate any advice,

Thanks ;)

If you don't play, the cheapest GeForce 8 or higher will do the job. For ATI a HD3xx0. Both have video decoding capabilities. But for pro apps like Photoshop or Final Cut take a good bunch of fast RAM: 4GB DDR2 8500 if you intend to overclock a little bit your Quad. And 8GB would make a real difference with a demanding app like FCP.
