CaptainJack
So I installed Leo4All v1 (10.5.2) and my DWA-552 worked perfectly. However, I had some troubles getting my graphics card to work without EFI strings so I aqcuired Leo4Allv4.1 and installed it. Well, the install went really well and I had everything and more with v4.1 over v1, including random kernel panics. I found it had something to do with my wireless card which baffled me because it worked great in 10.5.2. I found a thread on here that said that 10.5.4 "breaks" whereas 10.5.2 works fantastic with wireless. To correct the issue I was having I acquired the kext from 10.5.2. I ended up just virtualizing windows XP (parallels) and opened the .iso file from the Leo4Allv1 distro. From there it is just like looking for a kext on your Mac, System..Library..Extensions then find the kext. I had to admit, it took me awhile to determine which kext actually affected my wireless card. With MagicISO you can extract parts of an iso which I found to be really helpful because I was only seeking IO80211Family.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext. Once I extracted those, I downloaded a copy of Kext Helper (that little program is awesome!). I rebooted and presto, no more kernel panics! So now I have 10.5.4 working fantistically with DWA-552! I thought I would post a thread for anyone else who comes across this issue with the same card as when I was searching for help, I could not find anything about it. CaptainJack
can you upload the kexts you used? I found that all you really need to fix the issues with DWA-552 is install IO80211Family.kext from 10.5.2 with Kext Helper and then use DiskUtility to repair permissions. Unfortunately, IO80211Family.kext is too large of an upload for this site. All of the file hosting services are not working for me either. If you e-mail me then I can send it to you.
