Hi everyody ! :D

I'm rebuilding an iMac G4 for which I don't have any power supply, and it's very expensive to buy one. So the idea is to connect a standard, inexpensive PC ATX power supply.

Of course, the ATX will NOT be in the case (it can't go on, and I don't care if it's outside), and the idea is to use an external power looking like laptop computers (a cable with the supply built on it), which wouldn't break the esthetic of Luxo.

So, here is my very simple plan (will NOT work like this, by the way) :

The cord with the power supply changes the power BEFORE injecting it into the iMac ; so I would be able to use the original plug ; this one would be soldered, inside to the coloured wires and the classical pin, this one connected to the logic board.

Any ideas to make this to work ? :)

iMac G4 power supply specs : 160W, 24V (?)

For news : in fact my logic board uses 130W power as I know, and it will be very hard to do that since I don't have any G4 power supply to know how to adapt ATX ;)

Thanks for helping, I'm downloading an iMac service manual, but I think it's for the G3 (early 2001 = NOT the G4 :() and I can't find any G4 book.

If I can get any info about pins I'll draw something and I'll post it :)
