kinkster
I'v never had this problem on my hackintosh before, and I'v been running Kalyway 10.5.1 for maybe 6 months without any software changes at all. Now when I boot up, as usuall the first thing that shows up is the "Gigybyte" motherboard screen, that has options to go to BIOS etc. Usually it goes right past this step quickly and boots right up, but now its totally freezing right when it gets to this screen. Before it gets there, it accepts inputs from usb(or atleast CAPS LOCK light goes on/off), but once it freezes it won't, nor will it allow you to push the reset button(have to turn off power on back instead). It's a Gigybye DS3L, btw. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149794-stuck-at-gigabyte-screen/ Share on other sites

ForestGuardian
Do you still have a drive or partition with Windows installed, and have you tried booting from it? This could be a problem with your Leopard configuration or hard drive, as Ianxxx said; or it could be a corrupt BIOS. kinkster
Ianxxx how would I turn off the gigybye togo screen? Or is that what you were saying? I'v tried unplugging the hard drive and booting but it still does the same thing. I guess that doesn't tell us much though. I don't have a windows partition anymore :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149794-stuck-at-gigabyte-screen/#findComment-1060275 Share on other sites
tripleh3lix18
how long have you waited for it to boot up? if your being impatient , don't be. I kept turning it off too thinking it was freezing, but i had waited about a good 7-10 mins and it booted up. pissed me off so bad, was so agitating, but happens when ur doing stuff wiht the hd like installing new partitions, have a bootloader, or a new OS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/149794-stuck-at-gigabyte-screen/#findComment-1060389 Share on other sites
kinkster
Ah just read your post and tried booting up, worked like normal, no freezing at all. Lol, Im so happy. My problems with my hackintosh or always like this, it looks like im totally screwed then it gets fixed easily I don't know what caused the problem, but as long as it doesn't happen again by the time I get my MBA next week and run migration assistant. hmm, anything different about migration assistant on a hackintosh or should it work fine?
