Hi Guys...well I start with telling you about my problem.

I have a GA P35-DS4 Motherboard and I downloaded Kalyway OSX. The Installation was fine, but then I recognized that the Sound is missing. And the System did't shut down down when I clicked on the Shut-Down-Button. After rebooting the computer I had a problem with the OS because the system told me that the NTLDR file was missing and something else...After a quick search in the Internet I found that website "http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.0#Gigabyte". It says that I need a Retail-DVD for Installing! But what is a Retail-DVD and where can I download it. The Installation was fine with Kalyway, so why do I need a Retail-DVD? The second point is the problem with the sound. Is there any fix for the audio driver or what should I do. Please help me...

You don't need retail dvd, what you need are some kext files for alc889 audio.

also openhaltrestart.kext should fix shutdown and reboot problems, you can get hold of it from pystars website.

It sounds like your new to all this so, get hold of a program called kext helper and the appropriate kexts mentioned above.

Congrats, GA-P35-DS4 is a great motherboard, super compatible with Mac OS X. Retail DVD is the original unpatched DVD from Apple. More info about installing Leopard on GA-P35-DS4 can be found here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=77165.
