iiprotocolii
Hello all. I'm having a bewildering problem with iDeneb. Everything installed fine and I have been running the system for about 2 weeks. However, sometimes, when doing things that might require a large load of memory, OS X crashes and I would have to manually reboot/shutdown. This has been happening for the past week or so when I'm doing memory excessive tasks such as watching videos, some photoshop, simultaneous windows opening, etc. I'm wondering if there is a workaround to this or is it just my system configuration. Here is my setup: EVGA Nforce 680i SLI Motherboard 4GB of RAM 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB (only 256 being shown. Trying to figure out how to change that) RTL8169 NIC w/ forcedeth.kext removed and AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext installed. Keyboard/Mouse Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Boot using the boot-flag maxmem=2048 and see if the problems stop. If so you then you may be having issues with 4GB of memory and a particular 32bit kext. There are some modified 64bit kexts which will properly address 4GB of memory.
