Kubie Posted January 11, 2009 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Dear members of Insanelymac I wanted to install iDeneb v1.3, I succeeded but with a minor problem. I'm unable to connect to our LAN and to be able to surf. Already tried the lan cable to the computer with a laptop and it's working without any problems. When using DHCP, following message appears; Ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect. My router 'sees' the network card from the computer and his Hardware (MAC) address. When I used DHCP with the manual address option or configuring totally manual, again nothing seems to changes. Maybe my motherboard ethernet port is not supported by iDeneb v1.3? Can someone help me out? Kubie Posted January 12, 2009 Author Share Posted January 12, 2009 The make of my onboard LAN is CICADA VSC 8201 Gigabit LAN PHY chip. The weird thing is that I can make "a connection", however Network Utility does not give any information about the Vendor or Model.
