You will have to be a bit more specific with what happens when you try to boot the DVD. Also post your specs in your signature. Are you sure that the disk image you are burning is not corrupt. If it was downloaded you should be able to match up an MD5 checksum with that of your disk image. Also you would want to burn at a pretty slow speed. If you want a different option for burning the image you can download http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/ for free.
