Rage_machine Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 PC: Dell Dimension 3000 [Technical Overview: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/syst...s.htm#wp1075776] Hard Drive: 80gb western digital CD/DVD drive: LG CD/DVD drive Installation Disk Used: Kalyway 10.5.2 on DVD+R Issues: The first time i managed to get to the installation screen, but the picture was so terrible i couldnt see anything. I managed to format the drive but as soon as that was done i said "install failed". After i booted up i get the following errors: CoreRAIDServer [43]:17931 not responding continues for a bit............ then root filesystem is read only skipping kernel link data generation Then Root Halted. Then CPU halted. Does anyone know a distro that will work with this desktop? or possibly a kernel/fix ? Ive disabled onboard NIC card and turned up video buffer to 8 after reading through a bit of other posts. however, i cannot get back to this screen. edit:reburnt at 4x and that seemed to work!
