Hi everyone,

This is my first post here. I've been using Apple computers for several years now and am an active member over at MacRumors.com, but this is my first attempt on converting an originally Windows Dell PC into a Mac.

The computer I am trying to convert is a Dell XPS M140. I downloaded iATKOS, and created a bootable DVD. My first barrier of installing was the whole "stuck at the blue screen" issue... but I got around that by connecting an external monitor. I then formatted the drive, and proceeded to install OSX. It completed, and told me that it needs to reboot to complete installation. So it began to reboot, I got the Dell Logo, the Kernel screen, then the Apple logo with the spinning working icon, as if any Apple computer was booting up when all of the sudden it restarted itself. Dell logo again, Kernel screen again, Apple logo again, and then it restarts! It's in a continuos loop. I've searched through the forums here at insanelymac.com, and looked through all of the BIOS settings, but I really don't know much about them and am not exactly sure what, if anything, I need to change. I still have the boot disc and am willing to reinstall if need me. Any ideas of what to do next?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, and I hope everyone had a great new year!

I have the same comp just with more ram than the stock laptop came with. I am trying to do a retail dvd install and keep getting ebios erros when the retail dvd starts to load goes to a grey screen with the apple on it stays there for a few min then a circle with slash through it shows up over the apple. I purchased the copy of osx 10.5.4 so hopefully you or someone else has ideas for our comp. I am open to trying anything

Hi again,

Since no one replied, I thought maybe I could provide some more information that may help find a solution.

Attached are two images of my BIOS options.

Is there something here that I should change?
