Okay I have searched threw this site, read the guides and got my hands on ideneb v1.3.

I selected customize and selected the kernal for a SSE3 processor (last one in the list, I tried the on at the top, but I had the same issues I am having). I than selected the nvidia driver for a 512mb card. The installation went fine, big green check mark saying it will reboot in 30 seconds.

Once it rebooted I let it skip the boot cd part and it went to the white screen with a grey apple. After a couple minutes the box with a circle and a line threw it popped up so I knew something was wrong. I rebooted and put it in safe mode, it did the same thing. I rebooted and ran diagnostic mode and the first error was about firmwire and that it is switching to full security. After it did the whole diagnostic thing it brought me straight back up to the install screen were I selected the language and partition again.

This time around it told me it would only need 15.8mb space to install (I didn't select custimize this time), yet it took 1.5 hours. Once it rebooted to the grey apple screen it would take about a minute and the whole screen would fade grey. A message appeared saying reboot or cut the power off (I assume because the kernal and nvidia driver I had selected was wiped out when i went back threw it this?).

So here I am kinda scratching my head thinking I missed something. From what I have gathered the little box with the circle and line threw were supposed to appear near the first part of the installation (at least how this guide is http://tgrounds.blogspot.com/2008/10/osx-l...055-on-pc.html).

The P45 chipset is compatible, have you enabled AHCI in BIOS? Kalyway seems a popular distro, try that

Start all over again and please customize.

a. Reformate to start with a clean slate.

b. At customize only choose as less as posible

c. Choose ICHx chipset (your board has ICH10)

d. You ought to be able to use the original Apple kernel (vanilla) if your unsure use Stage XNU. Only choose one.

e. You might skip any graphics patch and use EFI Studio or OsxTools to attach graphics with EFI strings.

f. Leave all unessesary out and do it later. (e.g Sound)

g. When installation is done take th DVD out and boot with option -v to see whats going on.

h. If you are unsure about your hardware use a free tool like Everst home.

For later customisation look up:

Good luck

Thanks pontifex22, I had never selected the ICHx chipset because it only said 7/8/9 and I have a 10.

Now that I am booted I went threw the setup and at the end of it the thing basically froze. I waited an hour after I did all the registering/keyboard setup. So I cut it off and waited a few minutes to boot back up and went threw diagnostic, 0 errors and it brought to the desktop with the dock and everything.

My num key (sluggish response), caps key, and function key respond when I push them. The mouse will move around the screen but will not click or hight light (you know when you move your mouse over an icon at the bottom its supposed to be the brought to the front and made bigger) anything.

I think the only thing I can do is reformat and reinstall. Unless someone else has an idea?

And my mice/keyboard are usb based. The mouse a is mx510 (gaming by logitech), and the keyboard is a microsoft one.
