polp
Hi all. This is my first post here but i've been following this website for quite some time now and I must say you guys rock!! I've been trying to install the iDeneb 5.5 release on my system and each time, I get this error when I boot with -v: AppleGenericPCATADriver: CMD 0x1f0, CTR 0x3f4, IRQ 14 and after some time I get "Still waiting for root device", which keeps repeating itself... I read that there might be some problems with nvidia chipsets and I also was able to patch the .iso but when I retried, I got the same errors. I also found somebody saying to try to reboot with the -f parameter but still, i'm getting the same errors. I also tried the Kalyway 10.4.6 I had burned on DVD few months ago and still got the same. Could this be because I have no SATA components plugged into the motherboard? If so, is there any other workaround to get it working? This below is my system configuration: DMI BIOS -------- vendor American Megatrends Inc. version P1.60 date 01/27/2006 DMI Baseboard ------------- vendor unknown model 939Dual-SATA2 revision 1.00 serial 00000000 DMI Processor ------------- manufacturer AMD model AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ clock speed 2200.0 MHz FSB speed 200.0 MHz multiplier 11.0x DMI Memory Controller --------------------- correction 64-bit ECC Max module size 1024 MBytes DMI Memory Module ----------------- designation DIMM0 DMI Memory Module ----------------- designation DIMM1 DMI Memory Module ----------------- designation DIMM2 size 512 MBytes (double bank) DMI Memory Module ----------------- designation DIMM3 size 1024 MBytes (double bank) Display I2C ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Software ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Windows Version Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (Build 2600) DirectX Version 9.0c Any help would be greatly appreciated!
