rickisen
Hi I'm currently running a tripple-boot on my badaxe2 computer. But I'm fed up with only using 3 OSs'. It's just not enough for me, I need more. So I'm planing to do a hexa-boot, Yes six operative systems. I am aware that this is not exactly a common practice, but I thought I might do some researh before I try. The partitiontable would look something like this. sda1 mac 10.5.6 iPC sda2 win xp sda3 win vista 64 sda4 logic partition with: ---- ubuntu 64 ---- fedora 64 ---- free slot ---- fedora 10 But as far as I know. only grub can boot from logic partitions. But I never got Grub working with my current mac installation (10.5.1 kallaway). So currently I'm using Darwin in the MBR. So does anyone know if Darwin is capable of booting from logic partitions? Or can Grub boot "10.5.6 iPC"? And when I installed this current setup I had to boot some CD called something like "make drive Bootable" that did something with the MBR or something. Would installing grub in the MBR overwrite this? I think I will have to either: Install all operative systems and then install Grub into the MBR and try to get it to be able to boot OSX, vista and xp shoulnd be a problem. Although doing this would probably overwrite whatever that "makebootable" cd did. Or use Darwin in the MBR and try to get it to be able to boot from a logical partition. Or use Darwin in the MBR and install grub on a partition with windows on. (one of the primary ones). But I don't know how Windows would react to this. Any tips would be extremely appreciated! p.s I know this all seams pretty stupid. But I find stuff like this slightly entertaining. And I will of course buy a new harddrive to use for this installation (I'm not suicidal=).
