herrdude
I have an HP 9428NR laptop with: AMD 64 Turion X2 2.2 ghz 4 gigs of ddr2 ram 2x120 sata drives 1 usb sata drive I couldn't ever get OSX installed on my internal drive but it installed with few difficulties on my usb sata drive. It recognizes my two sata drives, my dvd drive, the 4 gigs of ram, the wireless and the Geforce 6150 GE video card. All in all, I am pretty impressed with how fast and stable it is. That being said, I have found that this video card doesn't allow for Quartz Extreme to be enabled (as far as I understand there are not any kext's that allow me to do so). I believe that this is causing me grief for watching streaming videos. I use SageTV and OrbTV a lot. When I use SageTV, I only get a black screen but I get sound. When I use OrbTV, I can use flash, quicktime, windows media player, or quicktime. When I use flash it works fine. When I use quicktime it crashes quicktime and safari, and when I use windows media player format it crashes VLC or gives me a black screen. Is there some workaround that will allow me to watch SageTV with video or with VLC with the formats (m3u, pls, or wvx) that don't crash or give black screens? Thanks in advance!
