Xandat Posted January 1, 2009 Share Posted January 1, 2009 Well I am trying to stumble my way through a hackintosh install and so far have gotten very little ground. Here is my hardware to start things off: EP43-DS3L http://tw.giga-byte.com/Support/Motherboar...?ProductID=2847 Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819116072 EVGA 9800GT 512mb http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=512-P3-N975-AR Sata DVD Drive Sata Hard drive(s) I can install Kalyway 10.5.2 with no customization options and boot into it no problem. My original goal was to do this and then update to 10.5.5 (or 10.5.6 I guess now.) I haven't been able to find a guide to updating to 10.5.5 that I can understand and follow along with. I've tried updating via http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=109102 (downlads are no longer availble) and that didn't work out. My reasoning is that I just don't know what customiazation options I need to run my system. When booting into the os i get the spinning circle that just stops. So after a few tried at that update method I found the XxX x86 10.5.5 Leo Install Disk featured here http://xxx-install-disc.blogspot.com/ Applied all 3 ppfs, disk verified fine. Theese are the customization options the disk gives you, I chose the ones pre selected (shown) and ICHx_Dune Chipset support (saw that my board has ICH10... that is all I know) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_GS35sxCQ8ck/SQg4...h/installer.jpg Also after the patches "Optional Bootloaders" category was added with ChameleonSMBIOS and PCEFI_v9.0 which I left unselected Im willing to go any way to get a working system, updating kalyway from 10.5.2, using a retail dvd, or this XxX install disk. I just don't have enough knowledge to get me anywhere and have been working on this off and on for a few weeks, I'll gladly throw a few dollars your way for getting me a working system, my aim is Cbloodybm. If it is as simple as just telling me what I need to select/deselect that would be AMAZING. I'm working on this throughout the night trying diffrent options, so i'll be checking back for posts. I actually considered giving up and just using vista but cinema 4d and cs3 just don't feel the same.
