I have tried to install iDeneb 10.5.5 and I got the little "O" with the slash accross it. Now I try to install Kalyway 10.5.2 and when it tries to install, it says USBF: AppleUSBEHCI: unable to initialize UIM

There is also somekind of Firewire Security Issue then it says still waiting for rootdevice.

I have an HP m7250n WIN XP MCE 2005 with 250GB HDD, Intel Pentium D 820 (2.8 GHZ) and i am assuming that it is at least an SS2 since it was listed as a sucess on the wiki.

EDIT: I just tried iATKOS 4 and 5i and they both had the "do not enter sign" on it. This is really bugging me. I know OSX86 works on my computer because there are already two people that I know of that have it on the same model (no upgrades).

Also...I am a noob at this...just to make it clear i used the iDeneb,Kalyway,(2)iATKOS disks and they all fail to load...THey all have the "ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security -mode;defalting to full-secure" and4 USBF (i think they are) errors. They say: Unable to obtain ownership, error occured, unable to initialize uim and ehci controller unable to take control from BIOS...Please help. Also I dont want to sound picky but I need a thorough answer...Thanks for the help...

Bol12:

What type of motherboard do you have. You also need to check if your CPU is SS2/SS3 capable. Anything less will not run OSX.

Post your hardware specifications in your signature, if you haven't already.

Are you loading the DVD off a SATA or an IDE optical drive? It is recommended that you use a SATA optical drive when installing Leopard on non-Apple hardware.

Enable AHCI in your BIOS.

Your root device error is caused by either the use of an IDE optical drive when booting the DVD, the lack of ACHI mode, or an incompatible.
