amador
i was supposed to add extra ram for my hackintosh Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd (sse2/sse3) EFI V8 everything is working well since i started reading all the stuff that might help installing the program properly. everything went well thanks to all the guy's giving their instructions about configuring and installing.. there's one thing though that i've notice. when i started to check on all the stuff installed on my modified osx86. i click on the small apple icon on the upper left corner to check all about this mac ,as stated in this forum on how to find out about your mac.. it shows the VERSION, PROCESSOR,STARTUP DISK AND 2 OPTIONS where you can update you software and another thing is more INFO.. I WAS SURPRISE COZ THE RAM THAT I'VE INSTALLED IS 2 PCS OF 1 GIG EACH AND HAS A SPEED OF 1066 MHZ. IT ONLY SHOWS THAT I ONLY HAVE 2GB 400 MHZ RAM..HOW CAN THIS BE? IS THERE ANY WAY TO MAKE THE RAM TO IT'S ORIGINAL FREQUENCY AND SPEED? INSTEAD OF LOOSING MORE THAN HALF OF THE ACTUAL FREQUENCY?.. DOES CHECKING THE INSTALLER CD AND MOUNTING IT AGAIN AND MAYBE UPDATE THE MACHINE HELP? IS THERE ANY WAY TO RECTIFY THE RAM ERROR? DO TRY TO CHECK YOUR MACHINE IF IT'S REGISTERING THE RIGHT FREQUENCY OF YOUR RAM. I HOPE THAT SOMEONE HERE IS KIND ENOUGH TO SHARE THEIR IDEA'S ON HOW TO RESTORE THE PROPER SPEED. TheWiiGuy
Since it is not Apple hardware, RAM speed is commonly incorrectly detected within OS X. I assure you, if the bios is set to the correct RAM timings and clocks, then it is running properly regardless of what OS X tells you. If the displaying of the correct speed is important to you, install either the netkas-27 SMBIOS or an SMBIOS hard coded to display the correct frequency. These should have been options when you installed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/143008-all-about-ram/#findComment-1015584 Share on other sites
bpat1218
yeah dont worry about it. mine said only 333 mhz and mine is 4GB or 800mhz. If your system is still performing well then you dont have a problem Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/143008-all-about-ram/#findComment-1031497 Share on other sites
