danryan1
I'm trying to use the 10.4.4 patched myz DVD to install OS X on my Dell Dimension 8400 and can't get the disk utility to recognize my partitions. It's a SATA drive and the OS X installer can't find any partitions and shows its capacity as 0 bytes. Has anyone come across this problem? I'm about to go dig an old IDE drive out of the closet and try that. Mac Boy
I have the same problem (0 bytes) on a Dell XPS Gen3 with 80GB Maxtor HD. Could it be the proprietary Dell MBR? Dell HDs have a modified MBR that allows booting to the utility partition and the restore partition. I ended up installing to an external HD, but things are much slower.
