Danica
So I've been trying to start up OSX with little success. It seemed to install succesfully, but now something weird is happening. I select OSX in the Acronis selector upon startup, and it goes through a little timer that asks me to select startup options. After that, a whole bunch of lines scroll past, as it seems to be loading things. Then, it stops and there is a bunch of white text on the screen and a solid, non blinking cursor at the bottom. Towards the top of this white text is the message (in yellow text): Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleHPET could not alloc class "AppleHPET" What does this mean? leaf
I am also getting a Failure on the HPET. I haven't done much research as to what that is. I will be doing it shortly. however. However, I don't think that is the cause of your booting failures as I am able to boot without HPET. It should be noted I'm only running OSX on the drive, I have yet to install windows or linux on the same drive. leaf
I did a short google search on HPET and I found this link: http://www.intel.com/hardwaredesign/hpetspec.htm The discussion of "Legacy" implies that it is a drive specific to the Macintosh hardware and therefore does not apply to our home built machine. I'm sorry but it appears the failing HPET driver is not the answer to you failing installation problems.
