triofour
Hello! i'm using osx on my pc since almost 2 years. and its running almost perfect. i've got just one problem and big hope, thats there any guru outside who could help me.... i've installed leopard on my SATA drives and i use the following Mainboard / Chipset: MSI MS-7318, VIA P4M890 my problem: some times, when copying files between differnet SATA drives or SATA/IDE drives - however they are connected - the system freezes. which mean, i get the spinning wheel, full desktop in background and cant work any more. just desktop in background and spinning wheel. so i had to make a hard reset. 2 years ago i used just IDE drives on the same mainboard and hadnt this problem. can it depend on those extensions called AppleVIAATA.kext oder AppleVIA.kext of the system. are there any error files in system which could help me? Thanks! triofour Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/141076-sata-problem-with-msi-board-via-chipset/ Share on other sites
