Lanceomni
1. I have to use safe mode to get past to log in screen, in the normal mode the login box just doesn't come up all i can see is a blue background. 1. Try repairing disk permissions. Open up Disk Utilities in Applications/Utilities/ click on the drive you have OSX installed on and select "Repair Disk Permissions" I have not tried it from single user mode but It may not work. You may be forced to load the install disk and use Disk Utility from there. You didnt by any chance load multiple video drivers did you? That may cause your problem. 2. If the above didnt work try removing any/all video drivers you may have installed. 3. Still no luck then boot in single user mode and open Console under Applications/Utilities/ Clear both the console log & then the system log (click Show Log List to access system log). Boot normally till you reach your error. Now go back into single user mode and check the logs again. You should see where your having issues. 2. Video Card Drivers For A PowerColour ATI HD3870XT We want to fix problem #1 first.
