Drunlade
Thought I'd create a more precise thread on this one... I've installed from Mac.OS.X.Tiger.10.4.4.X86-HOTiSO. The install went fine, no errors or anything. However, after booting up OSX, if I have verbose mode turned on, the Login window starts to open, then quits, opens, quits, opens.... etc - making the screen jump back between the blue background with the little spinning icon (the grey bars) and the black/white text. (without verbose it does the same but without dropping to the text) Any ideas on this would be welcome I know some other people have had the same issue. Metrogirl
Any clues you can give us about your hardware? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14075-login-window-loopcrash/#findComment-89589 Share on other sites
Drunlade
okok... clues... First letter, first word... starts with an A. Sounds like.... AND.... (gestures like a mad man the only way people know how when playing charades) ... ... Sorry, didn't post hardware as the problem seemed specific enough to have a "Ah that one" type recognition Running on an AMD64 3700+ and installed on a standard IDE HD. I know, OSX x86 isn't designed for AMD... but given the chip supports SSE3 (or so I'm lead to beleive) I thought it may just work. Also, ATi x1800XT, onboard network and audio (AC Chipset, Realtek HD audio).
