spudw
installed 10.5.5 iatkos on my c751nr and the cpu would run about 78-82 celsius. thought this was a little high so i did some checking around and found this: 10.5.3 Power Management figured what the heck so installed it. replaces appleacpiplatform.kext and something else. so i rebooted and check my cpu temp with this command: sysctl -a | grep cpu_temp i think this command only works if you have the speedit framework installed but anyway my cpu temp now shows up between 46 and 50 celsius. major improvement! my laptop palmrest is no longer frying eggs! let me know if this helps you out Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140714-1055-hint-compaq-c751nr-cpu-heat-issue-fixed/ Share on other sites
quickgiant
I have the C751nr and i have been using 10.5.2 for a long time now, and I was wondering which options you chose to get iatkos 10.5.5 to work. EDIT: Never mind, I got XxX 10.5.6 final v2 to work and used Apple Software update to get to 10.5.7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140714-1055-hint-compaq-c751nr-cpu-heat-issue-fixed/#findComment-1181816 Share on other sites
