dootimestwo
I have an EVGA nforce 680i SLI motherboard. I have read almost all the 680i threads completely. 650 and 680i chipset thread...., it works... Pre-7 series thread MysticusC's thread : Nforce Chipsets: How to install Leo easy and fast with iAtkos v1.0i r3 My question is I have done my research I believe, but which thread or install method is most recent and painless? Anyone with the same board have success? I've seen a few, but some started at 10.4.8 and updated to Leo. Some people with similar boards just installed Leo. Once again I am sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but the information on this site for 680i is vast and very spread out and some is outdated. Thanks in advance, Nick Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140236-most-current-method-for-leo-680i/ Share on other sites

Thanks in advance, Nick My Pre-Series 7 thread is the most up to date AFIK.....e.g. slashack nForceATA, Voodoo kernel (now in Release version 1.0), eno nForceLAN etc...... Best approach is to initially install OS X without a video, network and audio driver from Install DVD Customize selection just to see if the basic kernel, nForceATA and OS X system works.......video, audio and network can then be sorted....... What distros have you got to try? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/140236-most-current-method-for-leo-680i/#findComment-993423 Share on other sites
geiman
Yeah his thread has the most up to date info for nforce boards. Also, if you're trying to decide which distro to try first I've had great luck with iDeneb 10.5.5, not that it will work for you, but it's worked the best for me, in fact, it's one of the only discs that would boot for me. dootimestwo
I can try any if need be but, I've tried: iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Kalyway 10.5.2 On iDeneb I've tried almost every variation possible. I've tried both the noforceata's, most kernels, tried nvinject 512 and nvkush. In every attempt I always saw the error message about something being used by "both apple.something.blah and also dependencies on apple.something.else" This error message has always shown up in all iDeneb attempts but not always at the same time or for the same device. This error and panics have stopped me from success. On Kalyway my sata dvd simply will not boot the installer. I assume this version needs the nforceata.ktexts? I just got an IDE DVD ROM for testing, but I can't seem to get bootable... Anyways thats my current situation.. I'll have time later this week to actually get into Verdant's thread and do some real work. If you have any questions, comments, or pointers PLEASE feel free by all means.
