So a long time mac user... I really wanted to see if I can get it to run on something home brewed. I had a Shuttle XPS SD31P case laying around... never realizing that it has all the right Intel chips in it (ICH7).

So it looks like this... and it runs 100% (minus sound):

-Pentium D 3.0 both cores

-Intel ACHI drivers loaded right.. correct icons... USB patched and mountable

-Network 1000 mb using apple drivers

-Giggabyte cheapo GT6600 nvidia 128 mb... all functions

I did the 10.5.2 kaly, then used the kaly combo update to 10.5.3... then went straight to 10.5.5 using that A then B then C method... each time I upgraded the Kernel... Darwin 9.4 at the moment. Its fast, and feels just as my macbook did, only better due to the nvidia graphics card...which functioned straight through each update.... My mac office, adobe cs4 ms, vmware, toast 8.01 all function great.

The sound board on this machine, a SB Live on board was fried originally... I realized that's why it was laying around. I installed the kx drivers only to realize they probably would work, if the on board sound actually functioned. At this moment the bios doesn't even see it as a device either, why would osx. I'll have to pick up a USB product.

Fantastic home computer and repository for my precious macbook data!
