emotional friend
Installed Kalyway 10.5.1, upgraded to 10.5.2, then used the combo update to get to 10.5.3. Had to type -v update or something during the reboot. Anyway, since this was a fresh install, I assumed my sound wouldn't work. Under 10.5.1 it didn't work until I used AppleHDA patcher. Couldn't remember the steps, etc. Searched the forum forever and finally found a linux dump of the ACL888 info that AppleHDA uses to patch the audio driver. Anyway, here it is: http://tinyurl.com/IP35-sound Here's the deal, I don't know if my sound worked or not before applying this patch. I didn't have the sound out cord plugged into the back of the machine. After applying this patch, my system profiler still said no devices for Built-in Audio. But I plugged in the cord and it worked. Instructions: Download the above file. Decompress. Drag the IP35ProCodecDump.txt file to the AppleHDAPatcherv1.20 icon and drop. Once it is done, quit the patcher and reboot computer. Sound should work. Best of luck. I've run this mobo under 10.5.1 for some time and enjoyed great stability and full-features. Firewire, quartz extreme, etc. Emotional Friend ABIT_IP35_Pro_Sound_Fix.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137511-abit-ip35-pro-sound-success-1053/ Share on other sites
emotional friend
Upgraded to 10.5.7 on accident via the apple combo update. Had to jump through some hoops to get system restarted. Found the sound wasn't recognized under 10.5.7 on my Abit IP35 PRO, so I went through the steps I described above to get the sound working again. No big whoop. HDA Patcher and same text works under 10.5.7 Emotional Friend Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137511-abit-ip35-pro-sound-success-1053/#findComment-1184353 Share on other sites
