Not sure if this has anything to with the other issue where you just won't be able to install leopard cause of this error, pre-installation. Sorry in advance.

Here's what I've done so far. I installed kalyway 10.5.2 on a Dell Optiplex 745 (it's a desktop) on an *external* USB hard drive (yes I know, the whole mess begins here). I managed to install it without any problems, but as soon as the installation is done and is time to boot on the hard drive, OSX simply locks up trying to find the hard drive, and stays in a "Still waiting for root device" neverending loop. I noticed that the hard drive simply stops spinning as soon as it gets to this line:

AppleUSBEHCI[0x3908000]: :Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 113, timing out!

Afterwards it just a neverending loop of "Still waiting for root device". I tried to use all the other ports on the computer and none seem to work.

Of the things I can see is that it definitely has something to do with the fact I'm installing it on an external USB hard drive, so I'm assuming that USB is simply not working at all. What i'm intrigued on though is how was I able to install it in the first place? is it because I was booting from the DVD?

The installation had absolutely no complains at all (I was reading the Installation Log Window all the time), all happens as soon as I try to boot on it.

I'm providing a picture of the error.

Any help is greately appreciated.

on a side note, I grabbed the external drive and booted from it on my laptop (an alienware m15x) and it sort of worked, giving errors on the video card, which is normal, but it still worked. So this means the installation is fine except it has a complete issue with the USB hardware on the Dell desktop.

That narrows down the problem to the USB (duh). Anyone has any suggestions? Please!
