Weir Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 I just built a little cheapo mac with a D945GCLF board. My fiance and I both have MacBooks, so I thought I might use this as a server/AppleTV. The only problem I have is I'm stuck with a single VGA output, and right now I'm still on an old CRT TV (probably no HDTV until next year). So I'm looking for a PCI card I can slap in this board with at the very least DVI (I'd use a DVI > HDMI adapter later) and S-Video for now. I was looking at this Powercolor Radeon HD 2400 Pro, I've read of people getting the PCI-e versions to work, wasn't sure if I could do the same with this one. I did some digging last night and the 5500/5200 seemed like a pretty safe bet, but do I need to flash them with a different firmware? I found a good price on a 6200 as well, does it have to be a GS though? I am in exactly the same position of having a CRT TV and no real need to replace it.
