I really got interested in this x86 project that my friend told me about and I read through some threads but I still cant really figure out and be sure of what I really need. heres some info on my system: HP Laptop DV2000 (DV2620ca) Model: Pavilion dv2620ca (GS847UA#ABC) OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Video Card: NVIDIA MCP67M / GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M -installed drivers: nvd3dum (7.15.11.5613), nvwgf2um (7.15.11.5613) Network adapter: Broadcom 4321AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter Network adapter: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller Motherboard Name: Wistron 30D6 Processor: AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 TL-58 [1.9 GHz] -instruction Set : x86, x86-64, MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Audio Adapter: High Definition Audio Controller [NoDB] im looking for a dualboot install Theres some of the downloads that work and certain processors and some that dont.. if somebody can please give me a hand with a nice simple and easy tutorial with the simplest way to get this to work. MANY THANKS. And I checked the Tiger forums but .. i cant find anything either on there.. and + the leopard dock looks so much nicer but yeah. anybody has any experience with these? daviiiiiid Posted November 16, 2008 Author Share Posted November 16, 2008 Ok I downloaded the Kalyway intel amd 10.5.2 iso and burned it at slow speeds on a dvd-r. I put it in the drive and restarted.. and i got that .. darwin.. thing? and then there was that black screen with bunch of white text scrolling down and it just stops at some point.. something error.. read only file ? And I couldn't get out of it.. only thing i could do was a very unsafe.. battery removal and loaded back on vista. daviiiiiid Posted November 17, 2008 Author Share Posted November 17, 2008 I got to the installer fine now but it doesnt see my partitions in disk utility.. some info I dont have a vista boot disk.. i do have hp recovery disks.. what should i create partitions with? partition amgic isnt vista compatible.. i tried easeus.. it reboots and on that... screen when i reboot it just stays there.. and then i got paragon partition manager.. i didnt try it yet but do you guys think it is safe? I only have one hard drive that i could shrink and give about 30gb for my mac osx installation does it have to be fat32 absolutely? and do i have to change the raid to ahsi.. or somthing like that? and if i do.. its going to change my whole hard drive and not that one partition only.. will it affect in anyway my vista install if i change it away from raid? and if someone is able to help me with this and i get through the install.. which options in the customizing screen should i be checking with my system? thanks! tbu3 Posted November 18, 2008 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I have a dv2815nr with basically the same specs as you have. I have tried all and I mean all leo distros for AMD and none of them worked. HP dv series with ndivia chipsets and AMD processors are a {censored} to install OSX on.
