hellspawn
Hi! I'm using iATKOS v4i. I tried installing the new Safari 3.2 via Software Update, but the update is not offered to me. So I downloaded the v3.2 package for Leoard from Apple and tried installing it manually, but when I select my Leopard volume I'm getting a message "You cannot install Safari on this volume. This volume already has a newer version of Safari installed". Does anyone know how I can fix this? lord_muad_dib
edit: updated now from software update nicely Macintosh Requirements Any Mac running Security Update 007 and Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5 or Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 (or higher) have you installed the security update first? hellspawn
Yes, I installed everything that is available through Software Update. My current Safari version is 3.1.2 (5525.20.1) - I don't know why the installer thinks there is a newer version installed. hellspawn
I've found the solution: In /System/Library/Frameworks/Webkit.framework/Resources/Info.plist there were several occurences of version strings like "5528" or "5528.1". I changed all to "5525" and Safari installed flawlessly. I have no idea what put that obviously wrong version string there.
