dustinspace
Hi everybody, I am trying everything in order to install the original leopard dvd using the boot-123 method, but after all the BIOS setting permutations and many other ideas I STILL CANNOT GET IT DONE. That's why I kindly ask your help. (sources) [1] The BIOS settings http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=77165# [2] The ISO images: GA-P35-DS4_ISO (elastic), GA-EP35-DS3R_ISO http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=114834# My system configuration is: cpu [Core 2 q6600 @2.4 Mhz], mobo [Gigabyte EP35-DS4] , bios[F2] , chipset [P35/ICH9R] , Audio [Realtek ALC889A] , lan [Realtek 8111B], ram [Corsair 4GB DDR2-800 XMS2 DHX CL4], video [Gigabyte GeForce 8400 GS 256MB], HDD [samsung SATA 400Gb, Samsung SATA 500Gb, WD IDE 350Gb] What I did: >>> PREPARATION <<< - Burn the GA-P35-DS4_ISO using K3B (linux), source [2] - Set the bios as shown in the source [1] - Partition the Samsung 500Gb with GUID and split it into 3 pieces of 155 Gb each; the first two with hfs+ and the third with fat32 - set up the boot device list, with the Samsung 500Gb as the first HDD. >>> BOOTLOADER <<< - boot the system with the iso image. - swap the CDs, with the original Leopard dvd - press F8 and add the parameter -v to the bootloader >>> OSX boot <<< - just wait and everything ends up with a kernel-panic with the error: unable to find drivers for this platform \"ACPI\" Considerations: - My system is a really standard system: many users in this forum have the same equipment - The system works with Kalyway 10.5.2 + vanilla kernel + audio patch + nvinjekt 2.1 I'd like to discover where the problem lies and to produce a more compatible ISO image for this board (with audio-driver and nvinjekt and ...) So I'd like to ask for your help, how can I debug the problem. What information are you missing in order to help me to find a solution? Thanks a lot in advance, Dustin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/136384-ga-ep35-ds4-boot-123-method-not-working-help-kindly-required/ Share on other sites
