Hey everyone,

Ok so lets get this all straight. I've recently gone out and bought a brand new PC, while I was looking at PCs I noticed the Macs and I fell in love. Unfortunately I couldn't quite fall in love with the price tag though :P When I got home I put together my PC and installed Windows XP, I immediately started googling for ideas on how to install Mac OS X on my PC. I found a way and I can boot into the install and everything without error. I just want to know if it's safe to install with my hardware and if it can damage it.

My PC Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00GHz

RAM: 2048MB (2x 1GB Sticks) Kingston (I think) HyperX Performance RAM 4-4-4-12

Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS3R

Ethernet: Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC

Sound: All I know is that it's Realtek and uses the AC97 drivers

Video: NVIDIA 7600 GT 256MB RAM

HDD: SAMSUNG HD401LJ (372 GB) (SATA)

DVD-ROM: LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1P

Mac OS: Kalyway OS X Leopard 10.5.2 AMD/Intel

I can boot into the installation fine and I can use the network utilities to ping and I get an IP from my DHCP server so that all works, I just wanted to know whether it was safe to install without screwing up my new hardware.

Thanks for all your help,

Andrew

I have never actually heard of someone screwing up hardware while installing leopard, unless you will try to "hack" or somehow overclock the PC if so then yeah thats dangerous.

But your specs sound good, and are seemingly great for leopard why not give it a go? back up your data and install?

I took your advice and I can confirm that my specs work FANTASTIC with Leopard :P Installed. No errors, took 1 hour and 30 minutes to install and configure. Just trying to get my resolution to 1900x1200 or 1920x1200 I forget :P

EDIT:

Some slight issues with sound and video drivers. Will work it out and post the resolution.
