Well I downloaded Xelabos image for the VMware and used the converter to bring it in to VMWare ESXi and it boots and its fast. I had to manually change the vmx file to get the network card to appear changed to e1000 as the device. Now en0 s there but the MAC is 00:00:00:00:00 I tried changing with sudo ifconfig en0 ether MAC or sudo ifconfig en0 lladdr MAC and nothing it takes the command but doesnt do anything to change the IP. The inteface is not able to get DHCP and static IP doesnt work eather. I also tried changing the networkpref plist to change it to en1 (by changing to things from 0 to 1) and nothing same problem. Any one can suggest a solution please :) (maybe AMD pcnet driver for 10.5.5 ? ) Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

after finding your post, i also tried it : installed the image on VMware server latest version on Vista, then converted it to an ESXi VM : it's running fine (well, not really fine 'cause my Dell R200 / SAS disks w 2gig ram is not the strongest machine build VM's) but i have the same problem : no networking, nic is not detected at all... what did you do to at least have an "eth0" when ifconfig ?

Thanks, and up!

It works now on ESXi 4.0 when upgraded virtual machine hardware and used NIC e1000
