MoJoM
Hey there everyone, I recently used Zephyroth's program to patch the 10.5.3 combo update package from apple. I ran, it installed fine, I then rebooted my AMD machine and selected the partition I decided to update and it gave me a kernel panic showing this: panic(cpu 0 caller 0x004304FF): Unable to find driver for this platform \"ACPI\"./n"@/volumes/disk1s1/leo_xnu/xnu-1228/iokit/kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1376 Then there are a load of memory adresses, followed by: BSD Process name corresponding to current thread: Unknown Mac OS Version: Not yet set Oh, I can access this OS X partition through my other one, but the one with the error cannot boot. Help appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/134356-amd-1053-update-patched-with-zephyroth-02-amd-app-patcher-thing-gives-kernel-panic/ Share on other sites

dies
Have you tried to boot into single user mode? Have you tried -v -f -F flags? Also since you have access from another partition, check permissions for the files that were updated, are they set to the right user and group or are they set to your user and group "staff"? MoJoM
I have tried -v, not -f or -F yet though, and yes I will check permissions Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/134356-amd-1053-update-patched-with-zephyroth-02-amd-app-patcher-thing-gives-kernel-panic/#findComment-953807 Share on other sites
MoJoM
Ok, fixed this error and successfully patched... Almost. It gave me the error of: unknown SIGSEGV code 0 I researched around the internet on this error, tried the boot method of: -v cpus=1 This gave me no better results. The way I fixed the kernel panic was: Apply the 10.5.5 patch (10.5.3 was already applied and didn't want anymore errors).Install Chameleon EFI. Install the Voodoo Beta 2 kernel. I am very greatful I have 2 OS X partitions, withought the second I will have surely failed. As I was saying earlier, I got the SIGSEGV error, I found that I need to apply the CPUID's to the partition for AMD, so does anyone have the AMD 10.5.5 CPUID's that I can apply?
