sien
My original network adapter is broadcom netXtreme 57xx, and HCL said that is supported, but can not work for me. so i get a old realtek 8139 pci network card, tiger found the hardware, but dhcp is not okay. i tested the card under windows, dhcp is okay! I don't know why. then i tried manually configure network, so i can ping the computer in the lab, but can not access internet. from information above, it seems my hardware works okay, it's due to the configuration error. my network conf in windows: IP: 192.168.59.117 subnet mask: 255.255.248.0 gateway: 192.168.63.254 dns: 192.168.63.254 how can i configure the route etc??? thanks! ps: I tried network assistant, and got the prompt like "you Ip address and router address are not consistence with the subnet mask you entered" blabla.. planetbeing
Are those really your settings? Because they look really unusual to me: most people have a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. But it looks to me as your IP address and router address are consistent, if you look at the bits. So, you can't seem to reach your router somehow. Can you ping 192.168.63.254? ripprasternode
When you say can not access internet, I assume you mean in a browser, try to ping google.com see if it at least resolves googles IP. Try it with subnet mask 255.255.0.0 ripper Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13179-network-problems/#findComment-83827 Share on other sites
