max_rome
Hello, somebody can help me? I tried to make a native installation of mac os x 10.4.3, but when I boot from installation cd I have the error com.apple.boot.plist not found. Maybe because my optical drive isn't compatible. So I installed mac os x on a wmware virtual machine using phisical drive (the partition where I tried to make native installation). After the first phase of macosx installation, I reboot the virtual machine, but appear the message "OS not found". Then I tried to reboot the virtual machine with the installation cdrom, and typing "rd=disk0s2" at darwin boot loader, the system boot. And I was able to continue the second phase of installation. I think that I can use the installation inside vmware to make a native installation (the virtual machine write on a phisical drive). Then the darwin boot loader from cdrom doesn't works correctly in my system, I think that if I install the darwin boot loader in the partition I can boot the system using the option "rd=disk0s2" Somebody can explain me how to install the darwin boot loader in my partition? This procedure can be useful for all people who have the boot.plist error Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12951-how-to-install-darwin-boot-loader/ Share on other sites
jutanus
I agree. My setup works nicely but I have to boot from the installation DVD in order to boot in my setup (installed on a hard drive). Without the boot DVD, even with the partition set as active, it wont work.
