Slackulator
Hello everyone, I just updated to 10.5.4 but I am experiencing some issues. Firstly, I had Kalyway 10.5.2 installed(no sound). I updated to 10.5.3 using the combo update + kext.pkg. Everything worked fine(no sound). I want to point here, that when I was on version 10.5.2 and 10.5.3 my second hard drive, which contains WindowsXP was detected as it should, so I could access it from the desktop. Today, I updated to 10.5.4 by using this method. I also installed ALC889A kext but I still have no sound, and my WindowsXP hard drive is no longer detectable. Also, when I came on this part of code, it said that the file could not be located. rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache <press enter> although .mkext worked: rm -R /System/Library/Extensions.mkext <press enter> Any suggestions? Tobias6
Any suggestions? Find a corner to sit and weep in? I would... But seriously, roll back man. If it worked before update, go back. No point taking a step forward if its a giant leap backwards. What sound card / mobo do you have? Checked the HCL (wiki)? -T Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128140-1054-issues/#findComment-906825 Share on other sites
Slackulator
I wouldn't update to 10.5.4 if I didn't need it. But I do need it. Asus P5K is the mobo I am using, and sound used to work the first time I installed kalyway. Tobias6
No experience with Intel-OSX mix. Mebbe the update 'updated' your sound drivers? Outta my depth, sorry mate. -T Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128140-1054-issues/#findComment-906859 Share on other sites
Tobias6
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=117502 Shows a fix for ALC888 sound. Full install tho, not update. Obv, its an AMD only install, but the kexts in it might be good for you. Any good? -T Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/128140-1054-issues/#findComment-906930 Share on other sites
Slackulator
I re-installed Kalyway 10.5.2 and I selected all the audio drivers from the installation options. It should work(like it did the first time) but it doesn't. Weird...
