turtleman14789
I just installed OSx86 on my system and i love it. The only problem is that I can't the ethernet jack to work period. I keep reading about these .ktext files but am at a loss on where to find them and then what to do with them. I also have a Linksys USB wireless network adapter that as a Ralink2500 chipset. I downloaded the utility on their website and I cant get that to work either. I know that the system sees it because when i go to system profiler its there and then i pull it out and hit refresh and its gone. anyone have any ideas?? Metrogirl
A kext is a kernel extension which gives OSX functionality which isn't built in. You can load it in real time and if it's the right one the relevant hardware etc. will start to work. There's a bunch of information on our Wiki about using kexts and various solutions such as ndis wrappers for network cards etc. If there is a kext for your hardware you should be able to find it by searching.
