i wasn't sure where to drop this question, but here goes:

got xp and osx86 10.4.5 happily dual-booting on my desktop (asus p4p800, p4 2.5c w/ hyperthreading [sse2]), but after installing from the 10.4.4/10.4.5 dvd (previously, i used 10.4.3), the grey apple boot logo screen is no more. :( i just have the "verbose" style boot.

given that everything else is running like a dream, my ocd would like to get that handsome, minimalistic splash we all know and love back. i've tried a couple things, but i still have pages of text instead of an apple while i boot.

hopefully--and assumedly--this is an easy fix! i suppose this counts as an installation problem.

Hiya conundrum,

If you installed 10.4 from the Myzar release, I believe that this is something that when he created it, the boot sequence was set with -v by default, thereby enabling verbose mode on every boot. There is another post on the forum about how to change this back to normal boot mode, but I am not seeing it at the moment. Just so you know though, it's not a problem with your machine if you installed from the Myzar release.
