The system does boot and performs fine after it's up, there's just a 1-2 minute (yes, minute) pause during boot at the apple screen. I'm guessing a start with the system log to see if there's anything interesting there, was just wondering if there was somewhere else I needed to look. Thanks! chris. That's really not too bad of a boot time over all. You will get a much better view of what's happening if you type -v at the boot option. Another Chris Posted September 12, 2008 Author Share Posted September 12, 2008 I have a macbook, it boots much much faster (10-15 seconds from power switch to ready to use). I know on non-supported hardware I'm probably not going to get that fast, but I'd like to get closer . Thanks for the advice, I'll check it out at home tonight. chris. Running With Scissors Posted September 12, 2008 Share Posted September 12, 2008 Try the Jas DVD. I use to use Kalyway and boot time were over 2 minutes, I know use Jas and its under 15 seconds.
