Nvidia kexts causing Kalyway 10.5.2 to restart on boot.

After lots of trial and error, I've pretty much narrowed my problem down to this.

 

Every time i install the Nvidia drivers (either at OSX installation or afterwards) OSX gets stuck on an endless rebooting cycle. It will get to the grey loading screen and immediately reboot, i've tried using -v but whatever is causing the error comes up much too quickly for me to see.

 

OSX works fine after install if i don't install any nvidia drivers but as soon as i use NVInject, i get stuck in a rebooting cycle again.

 

-x doesn't work either.

 

Anyone have any ideas?

 

Kalyway 10.5.2 + TheStevo 4.5 patch (for via chipsets)

Bump and update.

 

I reinstalled OSX last night without nividia drivers, everything went smoothly until i ran NVinstaller. After installing the proper drivers for my card, i rebooted, now it just freezes on the grey loading screen.

 

using -v i can see that it freezes after it lists all of my other harddrives.

 

Tonight i'll unplug my other harddrives and see if it loads.

I have the older 775dual motherboard.  I'm beginning to suspect this is a via chipset problem.

 

Same effect when I add NVInject, or edit EFI strings.  

 

I can *boot* with NVInject if I remove NVDAResMan.kext, but then there's no actual difference to the display!
