flagtuck
Hello- From what I have been reading, I messed up when I used nvinstaller which set up NVinject 0.2.1 for my 256meg 7300gt under 10.4. My video works but freezes for a couple seconds every ten minutes or so. I searched the board and it seems like what I was supposed to have done was use the NVKush Installer. Any advice on the best way to proceed undoing NVinject and moving to something that is happy under 10.5.5? Other info: I'm running 10.5.4 with vanilla kernel. I never removed the other video files. Thanks in advance.
flagtuck
any ideas? I prefer not having to start from scratch for something like this. My questions: - how do I undo the NVinject? - If I can undo it or I start from scratch, what is the proper way to support my 7300 GT 256 Meg card (NvKush?) LuCasn
Remove (delete) NVInject.kext in /System/Library/Extensions Install NVKush.kext (use the provided installer)
flagtuck
Remove (delete) NVInject.kext in /System/Library/Extensions Install NVKush.kext (use the provided installer) Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. I have video but have stability issues now. I think I'm going to nuke it start over. Jingu
I am using a Nvidia Geforce Go 7900 GS with Leopard 10.5.4 from retail DVD. I had QE/CI but random desktop freezes just like you when I upgraded to 10.5.3 and 10.5.4. I solved it: For one: use NVKush ( I use NVinject but I changed the IOProbeScore from 60000 to 0. IOProbeScore got to be 0) You have to put your deviced id in the info.plist of NVDANV40Hal.kext and NVDAResman.kext. Up to 10.5.2, it did not matter if you did not input your device id, but starting at 10.5.3 and 10.5.4 you have to put your deviced id. Once I have done those 2 things. My random desktop freezes are completely gone.
flagtuck
Thanks a bunch for the info. I installed NVkush v4.20.2 without editing (or creating) any info.plist and I'm 100% stable so far. I'll mess around with the recommended files if I hit any issues. Thanks again.
flagtuck
I've started to have some freezing/redraw video issues. I'm going to start a new topic about it.
