boogi
Hi, I'm having an issue trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2 for the first time. I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find an answer. I've been following this guide: Kalyway Dual Boot Guide Basically, I can get to the part where I boot off the Kalyway DVD and I'm supposed to open "Disk Utility." However, it just loads for a while before spitting me back to the install screen that I started with. The utility never opens, so I never get to choose my partition. If anyone has any tips or knows a way that I can prepare the partition for MacOS a different way, I'd really appreciate it. Here's my setup: Gigabyte EP45-DS3L Intel E7200 Core 2 Duo 4GB G.Skill RAM ASUS 9800GTX+ 640gb WD SATA hard disk Thanks! BoSSDiTTY
sometimes the cpu can panic in dual core mode.. on boot try using "cpus=1" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122475-disk-utility-wont-start/#findComment-866556 Share on other sites
boogi
I tried typing in "cpus=1" instead of "-v" (as usual) and it resulted in the same thing. I go to Disk Utility and it loads for about a minute before kicking me back to the Installation splash screen. For what it's worth, I actually checked the wiki for hardware compatibility (I know, I probably should have done that before I bought the parts) and my Gigabyte motherboard (EP45-DS3L) is not listed, so that might be the reason. But if anyone can think of anything else to try, I'm all ears. Thanks.
