Help: can't reboot after nvinstaller

Hi all,

 

Hope someone can help me.

I have successfully managed to install kalyway 10.5.2 then teh combo 10.5.3 and finally the 10.5.4 from apple website as suggested in one forum somewhere.

I was trying to play dvd when I got an error and realize that my quartz extreme was not supported and that was due to the update to 10.5.3.

My config is :

- asus P5B deluxe wifi

- nvidia 8600gt 256MB

 

I found a thread on this forum regarding the issue and the thread mentioned to use nvinstaller 0.41

I went to nvinstaller website and downloaded the a package called 9f9installer or something like that as I thought it was the latest version of the installer.

I installed it using pacifist, rebooted and then nothing.

I am stucked on the grey apple screen.

I have tried the -x -v options but the messages I have on the screen do not tell me what the problem is.

I am new to osx86 but not to It in general.

so from the command line after pressing F8, what can be done?

 

first I don't know if the 9f9installer package is the correct one.

How could I recover my installation?

any suggestions?
