jul_k
Hi everybody! Is there a certain kext or module responsable for pci arbitration in OSX? or is there a way to set the priority of the usb controller(ICH7 family) when acting on the pci bus or accessing the memory? I tried to set the latency with 'setpci' but this is not possible and Intel's specifications say that since the usb-controller is directly connected to the ICH there is no need for a latency timer! If so, then could I make the ICH having a more privileged access on the MCH or make the GFX (nvidia geforce7300 go -which actually brings me into the situation of wanting to do this-) have a less prioritized acces on the memory or MCH?? I really hope to get some answears! THANK YOU!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122229-pci-arbitration-in-osx/ Share on other sites

jul_k
no I haven't and it is actually a very good idea! I've never had linux, so maybe you can suggest me a forum? Somehow I think it would be good to know first, where and how the arbitration process is implemented in OSX before looking at how they do it linux! (just in case it is or can be regulated by the OS! I couldn't figure this out yet) thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/122229-pci-arbitration-in-osx/#findComment-866710 Share on other sites
