Hello, I have very few problems left with my OSX install. I have sound, it boots perfectly (When it does), everything works fine.

What you need to know before reading this: I installed kalyway 5.1 (Should I install the 5.2 standalone update? I know my OS becomes useless if I install 5.1 from the apple update and simply get to the loading screen, says to reboot over and over again). My install is a MBR on ANOTHER drive (I have 2 SATA drive for vista/other stuff, and Leopard on an IDE drive). Last thing, in order to boot I press f2 on intel boot screen to go in the BIOS settings and change Which HDD boot first.

The problem? I absolutly NEED to have the kalyway 5.1 DVD in the DVD drive for OSX to boot. Why? I do not know at all and that is why I am posting this. What happens? Well its simple. For now, when I boot leopard. I get to the DOS screen and there is an "_" at the top left of the screen and LEOPARD DOES NOT BOOT AT ALL! If I put in the kalyway DVD, the system says the traditonal "press any key to boot from disk drive" with a countdown. I DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING (Or I would get to the instal screen...), the countdown reach 0 and leopard BOOT PERFECTLY FINE!!!

That is what bothers me. I do not want to depend on the DVD. To boot, I have a program which I think (Could not really test it yet as selecting mac OS simply give me the "_" which also shows up when trying to boot with no DVD in the drive, coincidence? I do not know.) would let me boot both OS even if it is my vista HDD is booted first.

Hoping to see answers, thank you.

You might given the name of the drive on which u installed as something like Mac OS X

this is one of the main possibility for this type of cases

Instead u reinstall the OS X with the name of the drive on which it is installed as Mac_OS_X (or any other single word )

your problem gets solved

you did all the rest correctly
