Hi all,

I'm an OSX86 newb.

I have managed to get an install of 10.5.4 running the stock darwin 9.4 kernel.

Everything works - even 2 channel sound out of the box - but no audio information appears in System Profiler [no built-in audio]

A lot of people have reported full success using AD1988B drivers and installer from Taruga.

Every link to that package is dead - and those kind people who have reposted - seems they are only the Realtek kexts [alc88xx]

I 'm confused on a number of issues:

1. Which package do I need to get full HD Audio up and running

2. Installation process.

The details of my system are as follows:

OSX 10.5.4 - updated from Kalyways 10.5.2 >> 10.5.3 Kalyways update >> 10.5.4 stock Apple Software Update.

Motherboard: ASUS P5K-E WiFi/AP

CPU: Q600 Core 2 Quad 2.4 running at 3.02MHZ

DRAM: Xtream Dark 4GB pair

Any help appreciated

Regards

Fish

See this thread

for a working link to Taruga's rev4 installer for AD1998B. Some people prefer rev3 for some reason, which is available somewhere (Google is your friend). BTW, I still can't make my Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe talk to Logitech Z5500 speakers through optical (TOSLINK) connection
