kalarm
Hello, my computer seem to take Kalyway 5.1 wonderfully. My problem? Booting. I installed easyBCD to boot and have the promp to boot up vista OR mac OS on startup. The problem is, it don't quite work. When booting, I choose mac OS and I stay at a black screen with an "_" flashing at the top left of the screen. Same thing happen if I change my HDD boot order (I KNOW IT IS WRONG TO DO SO) to boot my macOS. How do I get on my mac then? Simple, if my install DVD in the the DVD drive and I switch the HDD boot order in the bios, I get the "press any key to boot from CD", I DO NOT PRESS A KEY the countdown goes to 0 AND MAC OS BOOT PERFECTLY FINE. That is for now my main problem. I do not quite know how easyBCD works it only says to install mac OS, boot vista, create the Mac OS entry, reboot and select Mac OS. I do not know if the error (flashing underscore on black screen) is a "coincidence" or if it actually truly tries to boot Mac OS as I get this error both from HDD boot order and bootloader. Since the bootloader is only on vista, I cannot test to see what would happen if I would select mac OS WITH the CD in the drive. What should I do? My mac OS seem stable, my biggest issue compatibily wise is the sound (Sigmatel integrated sound card in Intel D975XBX2KR mobo, if you know what to do, it would be greatly apreciated), but right now my main concern is how to quickly and easily boot both systems when I want to. Thank you all for your help, hoping to get help ^^ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121884-need-help-with-easybcd-vista-leopard-on-different-hdd/ Share on other sites
ysaipranav
You do not need to use Easy BCD or any other 3rd party boot loaders if u installed the two OS on two different HDD's It is that u must change the hard disk priority each time u want to boot into a different OS those boot loaders are for people who use both OS in only one HDD So just uninstall Easy BCD and change the hard disk from which it must boot and that is the solution for ur problem Do visit my blog often http://spyhackarticles.blogspot.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/121884-need-help-with-easybcd-vista-leopard-on-different-hdd/#findComment-862665 Share on other sites
